American Sign Language Interpreter – Staff Position
DeafConnect of the Mid-South, Inc. – Memphis, TN

Position: Full time staff ASL interpreter at DeafConnect of the Mid-South, Inc. serving the Deaf/HOH/DeafBlind community in West Tennessee and Memphis Metropolitan areas.
Responsibilities:

  • Interpret/transliterate (sign-to-voice & voice-to-sign) in a variety of situations including: medical, educational, employment, business, social services, & legal
  • Assist with clients (walk-ins & VP)
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

Requirements:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language
  • Nationally certified – NAD IV/V or RID CI, CT, CI/CT, CSC or NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master, EIPA 4.0 or above
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multi-calls
  • Compliance with DeafConnect policies and RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Continued professional development (Interpreting skills)
  • Willingness to complete additional duties and assignments
  • Dependable transportation
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Position:  ASL contract sign language interpreter at DeafConnect of the Mid-South, Inc. serving the Deaf/HOH/Deaf-Blind community in West Tennessee and Memphis Metropolitan areas.
